4th of July Fun.. and a giveaway!

Well Happy 4th to those in the US (and Happy Canada day this past week too!)

We are off for another family camping trip this weekend.. this time just locally at Heise Hot Springs, but still fun! (last weekend we went to Palisades with our friends, the Hone Family. It was a BLASt). Palisades was amazing.. one of the most beautiful places I have been to in Idaho. We did the real camping thing (not like Heise).. and it was fun! We swam, rode ATV's, played games, sang songs by the campire (made up songs too).. it was fun!  We have already planned another camping trip there in August with the Yancey's. Can't wait!

So.. we are off for Heisi today, Heise is a bit more "camping" friendly.. they have manicured lawn campsites, with hookups. They have bathrooms, showers, swimming pools, a pizza parlor, golfing, atv'sing and even river raft trips down the snake river. We are going with my family for the 4th (a last minute trip we schemed up yesterday! LOL).. but hey it works! We are still close enough that we can go view the Fireworks in Idaho Falls (I have heard the biggest firework display in the midwest!).. So it will be fun. ,

Before I leave,  I wanted to do a quick post about a giveaway we are doing for Scarlet LIme! (our Kit club).

Summer fun has begun..

So summer has begun officially (we are about 3 weeks into summer vacation) and already lots of fun family memories have taken place. BBQ's with family and friends, going to the Drive-in to see Night of the Museum 2, camping at Heise Hot Springs, Jeni, ben's sister came to visit and we had a "girls night with Allie, we've ate lots of smores in our backyard around the fire pit, we've made at least 10 trips to the snow shack, we've had lots of late nights watching movies, golfing (with the kids), took the boat out (to see if it would run.. and it didn't! LOL), hanging at the skate park (watching ben and cody trying to be younger than they are),  picnics at the park and more! Oh and did I mention Braden, our oldest, broke his foot? (hasn't stopped him from golfing everyday with his friends though). Our most recent adventure was taking Braden and 7 of his friends to Lagoon down to Utah. It's a theme park about 3 hours away.. and Braden thought it would be fun to drive down for the day and go to Lagoon then camp at the campground connected to it that night. We ended up taking Allie and Preston and two of their friends as well, with a total of 12 kids in all! We had to drive two cars.. in order to bring all the kids... and ben pulled our camp trailer, so we and the girls had something to sleep in, while the boys slept outside in tents. It was a LOTof fun! We have decided to take Ethan and Noah to Lagoon by themselves next week, for a day trip.. because they were too little to come on this one. It should be fun! We also have a camping trip planned for next weekend to Palisades Lake.. and I have to tell you i AM SO SOO excited for that trip. We live only about 1.5 hours away from that Lake (actually a few lakes)and yet we have never camped at any of them. We live 2 hours away from West Yellowstone and have never taken our kids through that park either! Can you believe it? So this summer we have alot of camping trips planned.. we always go camping to other places.. but never around here.. and we live so close to so many beautiful lakes, mountains.. rivers.. etc.. so this is the year!

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to this summer!

Hope you are enjoying your summer..

Fun things to share!

Boy have I been busy this past month.. still working on the house thing (Allie's room is ALL done, and our room is textured and is getting painted by my handy man husband, Ben, on Monday!)I wanted to show you pictures of the process, but my dear, sweet daughter... accidentally broke my Digital Rebel. It wasn't really her fault, but man I am not loving living without a camera. I was going to order a new one right away (unfortunately mines not fixable).. but then I read that Canon is coming out with a brand NEW digital rebel in May with new video technology.. so decided I better wait for that!

So I don't have update pictures.. but I DO have some exciting things to share with you!!

I also have to share with you my new favorite thing! A few weeks ago, I was visiting a blog of one of my dear friends and saw a post about these wonderful camera strap covers from *SHEY* {B}'s Etsy site!  You know how I LOVE the color red,  just about died when I saw the red and white damask strap,  so I had to get it for myself as an early Mother's Day gift. It was just SO me!  I received mine last week and am totally in love! She has so many styles to choose from and you can also get them customized  with extra padding, a pocket for your lenses caps or even extended lengths! You seriously have to check out her website! (and another p.s.!  she is also one of our sponsor of the April newsletter, and is giving away one of her fabulous straps! So make sure you check out the Scarlet Lime Blog to get entered for that!) Make sure you check out her site.. it's really cute. I have alot of favorite things from Etsy that I have purchased recently, I will have to show you them when I can take some pictures!

Well it's FINALLY warm here! Sort of.. it's almost 60! and the good news is, we have 70 degree weather in our next week's forecast! I am SOOOO excited! so tired of the snow (which it did by the way this week.. snow..),but I was also thankful for our late snowfalls this year.. because last week, we had some very dear friends, Retha and Zander, visit us from South Africa. They have talked to us alot about how they have never seen snow, never been in a snowfall and have ALWAYS wanted to go skiing. Well fortunately for us, they had a meeting that got canceled, and we happened to get a ton of fresh snow at a ski resort just 2 hours away.. So we took them on a day trip to see snow fall for the FIRST TIME! Ben taught Zander how to snowboard (he's never skied or snowboarded in his life).. and he did pretty good! Retha and I spent the day in the lodge, just chatting, drinking hot chocolate and watching the snow fall. It was an awesome experience for us. We got to share something with them, they had never experienced before.. much like our visit with them back in November in South Africa.. what a cool thing.. Love those two!
Well so it's going to be a nice weekend.. filled with lost of outdoor activities (getting our garden started..).. I can't wait!
I hope you have a wonderful and warm weekend too!

Moving on up, a birthday and a redo!

So.. after going back and forth for the last few months about moving or just adding on, we have decided to just add on to our house! When we bought this house over a year ago, we KNEW it was too small for us. It only has 3 bedrooms, no dining room and one full bathroom.. and with a family of 8.. that’s not much space! We have managed okay with only three bedrooms.. we have 3 boys in one room, Allie in another and Ben and I in a small room downstairs. That means Braden and Parker have been in the “food storage” room in the basement.. (don’t worry, they have a door to the outside connected to their room! LOL).. but as they kids get bigger.. they are going to need more space. We don’t have a dining room right now, so we currently all just stand around the kitchen eating each night, and we don’t have a family room either, so there is only one gathering room, right as you enter the house, that we all hang out in. We knew when we bought the house we would add on to it, but we waited a year to live in it to see exactly “what” we wanted to add on. Then back in December we got the itch that maybe we should just move instead of adding on. It’s a buyer’s market right now, and we can get a lot more for our money.  We found some awesome houses.. that were HUGE,  gorgeous and IN our price range…. but after thinking about it long and hard.. we decided to just stay where we are at. We couldn’t part with our little old house!

This house was built somewhere between 1905-1910 and it has all the features of an old, lived in house. It also has a very private backyard.. which makes us feel like we are in the country, but we live smack dab  in the middle of what I call “the perfect neighborhood”. We love it here. We love that all of the kids in our neighborhood (from ages 8-18) play night games in the subdivision all summer long, we love that we are just around the corner from my dad’s house.. 2 blocks away from the library, grocery store, bank, post office, and community outdoor swimming pool. It’s an older neighborhood, so it’s  filled with a lot of families, of all ages..  and we love it. The houses we looked at buying were newer houses, built out of town (still in Shelley) but out of town, away from all of that, and we would miss it.  It’s funny how sometimes even though you can have a nicer, newer house.. the “perfect” house.. isn’t always worth over having the perfect location.. you know what I mean?  So since we decided to stay here, and just add-on, we have also decided to not overbuild for where we live. Which means, the master-bedroom we were going to build on, is no more.  We are just going to build on a family room/living room, and two more bedrooms. Ben and I have been living in the smallest room of the house, right off the living room.. because with 6 kids, they need more space than we do. There is actually a master-bedroom in this house, that the previous owners built/added on.. upstairs. It’s a huge room.. with a walk in closet and a big bathroom (just down the hall). Because of space issues, we put the 3 youngest boys in there (actually 4 at one time).. but since we are going to add-on, we decided it’s time for Ben and I to move on UP and the 2 boys to move down!  Noah kinds ends up sleeping wherever each night anyway (he starts in his bed, but ends up in the living room, our room, allie’s room.. etc). So we decided he doesn’t need a bed right now, and can make due until we add-on).

Switching rooms

When we moved in, we re-textured and painted most of the downstairs, to get rid of that old (rough) texture on the walls.. but since we decided to move upstairs, we thought we better do it right and re-texture and paint all of the rooms/hallways up there too. That included the “master-bedroom” and Allie’s room which is also upstairs. So for the last two weeks, our house has been in crazy mode. Beds, dressers, toys, etc.. everywhere.. and we are still not done! LOL.. Since Allie’s room was getting repainted, we decided it was time to get new bedding and do some re-decorating. She had a bigger queen size bed in her room so when guests came over, they could use her room. But now we will use the boy’s room for that. So to give her more space, we have downsized her bed to a twin (one of the beds ben built for the boys, and he repainted it white). But she also got to pick out new bedding! She has had High School Musical bedding for the last couple of years.. and so I was surprised at only 9, she wanted a more grown-up look! She actually picked out the paint all on her own, and her bedding.. which is very modern and so much more grown up! I was impressed! We got the quilt at overstock.com and the light at drugstore.com . The quilt is actually SO pretty in person! It has lots of different textures to the patches.. and it’s a comforter not a quilt. SO fun! We got her a new dresser (the one she has had for years, we found at the dump and repainted it, but it’s just not big enough to hold all of her clothes anymore.. and the drawers were so hard to open). So we bought her and all of our boys new dressers at a local second hand store here in Shelley called “Hidden Treasures”.  Great stuff! The dressers were all new but so inexpensive! (our boys have not had dressers for the last 2 years, we bought those big grey tubs at wallmart and lined the “master-bedroom” closest with tubs. They each had 3 tubs- one for shirts, pants, and pj’s. That way the could just dig through their tubs to find their clothes.. I thought it would be much easier for them, than big tall dressers). Now that they are bigger and in a room that doesn’t have enough room for all the tubs,  we broke down and bough them dressers too. Ones that actually open! LOL

Alliesroom

So we have been busy with that. Allie’s bedroom is all re-textured and painted, and so is the hallway, now we just have to do our bedroom and the bathroom. Our bedroom is SUCH a mess.. stuff everywhere.. we just moved it all up and basically threw it in there. There is a ton of space up there, but right now you wouldn’t be able to tell with boxes everywhere, tubs, etc! but it’s a work in progress.

Yesterday was Noah’s 4th birthday!  It was a fun simple birthday party with just family, cousins and a friend, Lauren. He was So funny because we have been asking him for the last month what he wanted for his birthday and he kept saying “I only want an ice-cream sandwich!”.  We would ask him,, don’t you want toys? Or something cool? And he would say NO, only an ice-cream sandwich!   Too funny! He actually ended up getting a little bit more. We bought him a bag of tootsie rolls, a pack of tic tacs, and a bag of soft chewy cookies. And a plastic bowling set we found at the dollar store.  It was the cheapest easiest birthday ever! I made cupcakes.. and we served ice cream sandwiches for desert! He also got a few fun gifts from his cousins.. and it was fun. You should have seen his reaction when he got his presents! He would be like “ TICK TACS?? I GOT MY VERY OWN TIC TACS!!”  We all were laughing so hard. Funny kid!

Doing a little creating...

I know.. I know! shocking huh? LOL.. okay.. well not technically today.. (I have been sick with the flu since last Saturday and feel like it's turning into strep.. YUCK!) .. but i did earlier last week.. because this month for Scarlet Lime.. We had one of our Guest Artist Gals not be able to do it, Smile  Family  Noah  Bc

so I decided to create a few layouts with the kits to add to the Artist Gallery. It's been months since I scrapbooked.. so it felt really good to get creative and have fun.

I also created my class this past month for the event I am teaching at in May,Donna Downey's Inspired Workshop. The event is May 7th-9th and besides the actual event, they are also offering mini- workshops the day before the event and each evening of the event as well.. and I am teaching one of the mini workshop classes.  The event is really centered around creative art.. not so much scrapbooking, in fact I am attending the event as a STUDENT.. which is the first time I have ever attended an event like this as a student! I have taught at MANY Of them.. but never just been able to relax and enjoy the classes being offered. We get to learn SO many things like painting on canvas, doing our very own Portrait of ourselves (scary! LOL)..creating a book out of fabric, making clay jewelry, and more! I seriously can't wait. I even splurged a little bit and am taking some of the other mini workshops offered.. (during the times I am not teaching)..and in those I am making a quilt piece, a purse made out of a book,  art rings, a necklace, and a couple of fun art books.. SO fun.. seriously I think I will have to go to this every year.. it's SO much more about just being creative and using creative art to express yourself.. and just have fun. So anyhow, when I was creating my class, I wanted to do more of a project type class.. something that involves more than just scrapbooking, so I created this hanging album, that involves fabric, corrugated boxes (the we tear up and paint), crepe paper, beads, glitter.. lots of fun stuff...SO Excited about this class. And I found this cute little vintage looking stand to hang it from too. So fun! I am excited to teach it, but also excited for the students because the class itself only costs $25.00 but they will get over $60.00 in product jammed packed in this class because of the AWESOME sponsors of my class!  (Chatterbox, GCD Studios, Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin, Scenic Route, American Crafts and more!)..cool stuff too and of course we will have lots of little goodies from Scarlet Lime in there as well.. so it will be a fun class. Can't wait to go really.. also because i am excited to learn about new mediums so I can come home and teach my kids.. they LOVE to do art, scrapbooking, painting.. etc.. and I think i can use some of what I learn to give them more ways to create as well.. should be fun. Here is the class I am teaching. ChristyTomlinson_image1

ChristyTomlinson_image2

Well I better get back to bed.. I feel like I have spent the last 4 days on the couch or in bed.. but I just can't seem to feel better..I started taking some meds today and hoping I feel better by tomorrow sometime.. good enough to get some work done anyhow.. hate being sick.. tired of being sick! LOL :).. have a good night!

February 13, 2009

January was crazy!

okay.. as you can tell from my last post, January was CRAZY for us!
As I mentioned in my last post, my sisters and SIL's from the Campbell side of my family, went on a "sisters" cruise....to the Caribbean! It was so much fun, and we had SUCH a wonderful time with each other!  I took my camera.. but I am SO mad at myself because I only managed to take one photo of us the entire time! It was the actually the first day on the ship!  As soon as we got on, we of course took a tour of the ship. It was most of my sisters first time cruising, so I showed them around the ship.. and we even went to the spa to enter into their drawing they do the first night you set sail. (Last year on a cruise with Ben and our two good friends, my friend won a free massage!).. so we decided to see if we could win something too. There was 6 of us.. and we all entered.. and guess what?? 3 of US WON!!  Crazy! LOL.. who knew we were such good luck!  CruiseAfter that we decided to catch some rays on the back of the ship where they had this "adult" only lounge area.. it was So nice.. they had these padded lounge chairs, two private hot tubs, and spa music playing.. it's so peaceful and quiet.. well since it was close to 5:00  Pm.. we didn't get too much sun before it started to get dark, but on our way back to our room we spotted a free SUSHI bar! So we stopped for some "pre-dinner" dining.. and that was the ONLY Picture I got the entire time of the trip!  We had so much fun though.. truly.. wow.. so nice to relax, have fun and just hang out.. I swear we laughed so much.. it was crazy.. just loved it!

So we got home from that and then 5 days later Ben and I turned around and headed out for CHA! CHA is a twice a year trade show for the Craft and Hobby industry, scrapbooking.. which is where we go to see all the new products coming out for the spring and purchase products for our kits. My brother and his wife, Brady and Brooke, also came with us because about 6 or so months ago, they started an on-line business called www.peachycheap.com it's a deal of the day concept for scrapbooking. so they were going to purchase products for their website as well! Unfortunately Ben and Brooke got a nasty "flu" bug during the 1st two days of being there.. Brady had already had it (and so actually had all of my kids!).. so I was just knocking on wood that I wouldn't' get it during the show!  The shows are LONG and tiring.. you are walking all day long, looking at new products, collecting catalogs, and then sitting in your hotel room until wee hours of the morning, figuring orders, writing them.. etc.IMG_2097 We were so tired the last day of when the show ended.. that we drove to the beach.. took a walk on the "pier" and then took naps in our car until our flight later that night! LOL.. we had all these big plans to do all this stuff the last day, since the show ended at 2:00.. but we were too tired to do anything! LOL.. IMG_2101

We took a couple of pictures of us on the Pier.. It was so beautiful.. not totally warm, but way better than the 15 degree weather and 6 feet of snow at home..

So now we are home.. for while (the next time I leave is in May to teach at an Event put on by my dear friend Donna Downey. I can't wait for this!).  Today our kids have school out and Monday too, so Ben and Braden (who recently took up snowboarding).. went up to Kelly canyon to snowboard. Since it's Valentines Day weekend, I thought it would be fun to make a bunch of sugar cookies today with the other kids and do some fun valentines activities.. just hang out in our Pj's all day.. playing games.

So that is what we are doing today! Tonight Ben and I are heading to the Temple, for Stake temple night. It's stake conference this weekend, and so lots of fun activities planned for our stake today, tomorrow night and Sunday. Love Stake conference weekend.. I love going to all the meetings and hearing the talks, meeting the General Authorities that come to talk with us, hearing the speakers in our stakes give spiritual insight. It's a fun weekend for me.

So that is what we have been up to!  I talked Ben into taking me snowboarding next week.. I have NEVER been in my life.. I went skiing as a teenager.. until I had a really bad (mostly just embarrassing) moment when I was 14, on a ski hill.. and haven't been back since (it involved a really cute guy, peeing my pants, and a very QUIET ride home).. so I putting the past behind me and going to learn to snowboard! we have friends and family that do it and love it.. and say it's much easier on the knees than skiing.. so I can't wait! I will definitely have to take pictures of that one! LOL

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! And Happy Valentines DAY :)

January 01, 2009

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! Christmas was so low key at our house.. it was great. We had lots of family get together.. yet they were all stress free and that's the wayI like it! LOL..

I am still having fun with my Bosch!  We did gingerbread houses the Sunday before Christmas and used it for that, Banana Bread, Mashed Potatoes.. you name it.. that thing is so great! I wonder where it's been all my life!

So Christmas was wonderful. We did alot of "family" gifts this year.. meaning our kids didn't get alot for themselves.. but we did alot of gifts that the entire family could enjoy. It actually was alot better and the kids didn't even seem to notice!  Santa brought some of their favorite "wish" list toys.. and so that was nice of him.. We always appreciate that.. so we don't have to ;).  This is actually the first year I feel like we didn't just buy them a bunch of junk toys that are already "broken or lost".  So I feel good about Christmas too this year..

Besides the presents I bought for myself (my Bosch and new Cooking pots and pans from COSTCO (best pans I have EVER used in my life. THANKs lizzie for telling me about them!).. my daughter also got me a IPOD! I am always borrowing Bens when I travel and our music is SO different.. I am REALLY low key. and like just laid back music.. he is still living in the 80's and into his "hard rock" stuff! LOL..

so it's nice to have my own, and now I can put my scriptures on them, books I love to read (or listen too) pictures, videos.. etc.  It will be great! I also got a new scarf (really into scarves lately.. thanks to my dear friend Mel).. and a cute little zebra purse pocket to hold my ipod (also from allie.. actually all three of those from allie).. what a sweet girl.. and then Ben bought me new Scriptures!.. They were LONG overdue.. I  already hada triple combination.. but they were given to me back when I turned 18, by a "steady" boyfriend I had in high school. He wrote a sweet "love' note in the front of them.. and I have had them ever since.. when I got married to Ben, it felt kinda weird using them.. but that was all I had! LOL.. so finally after being married 14 years.. Ben bought me some new ones.. with my married name on them.. and I love them.  He even wrote his own sweet "love" note in the front of them.. what a sweet guy! He also made me a "dough" board.. and of course.. engraved "B+C" on it. Our kitchen counters are made of granite and when I try and roll dough on it.. with flour.. the flour doesn't have anything to stick too, so it just slides around.. so he made me a large wood dough board.. and wrote this super sweet note about it.. and how when I make bread I show my love for others.. so he made this board to show his love for me.. he is seriously the sweetest guy..

Anyhow.. so Christmas was GOOD!  We had a fun New year's Eve too.. hanging out with family and friends.. but now its time to hunker down and get our work done for January.. our kits start shipping next week AND I am leaving next week for a "sisters"  trip.   A few years ago.. when we were all first married.. my sisters (Tia, Leah, Leora and I).. would do a "sisters" trip every year.. usually just a weekend get together.. or we would fly out and stay at each other's houses for the weekend.. and just hang. We hadn't done it in a few years.. and so this year.. we all felt like we  really needed on.. we don't get to see our sister in St. Louis hardly EVER.. and the rest of us live here in Idaho.. so we decided to plan it! since then, our brothers have married and so we also invited their two wives. I can't wait! but it's frantic trying to get everything ready so I can leave..

I just have to share this recipe with you! So I told you about Sherelles blog.. and how she has some GREAT Crockpot recipes on there.. well a few weeks ago, I decided to try her Chicken Bowtie Pasta. it's a Crock Pot recipe for a "cream sauce" over noodles.. and I have to tell you.. I AM SO picky about cream sauce. One of my favorite dishes are fettuccine dishes.. but I have ONLY ever had them at a restaurant because I have NEVER found a recipe that even tastes close to what you get in a restaurant. Infact one of my favorite dishes is a bowtie one from Johnny Corino's.. that has bacon, mushrooms, chicken and sun-dried tomatoes in it. It is also a bit spicy.. but I like it both with the spice and without. I decided to try her recipe. mainly because it was a noodle dish and my kids LOVE noodles.. and I love crock pot easy stuff. I actually KNEW i wouldn't eat it.. because I am really picky.. like I said.. with my "cream" sauces.. but I about DIED when  I went to serve it and it tasted JUST like my favorite dish from Johnny's!!!  Hers didn't included sun tried tomatoes and wasn't spicy.. but it tasted just like it!  So I pulled a little out for me and added some red pepper and the tomatoes and I seriously.. couldn't believe how good it was! My kids loved the "mild" version.. which is the regular version that she has listed.. but i had to call two of my good friends.. that always get that same dish at Johnny's too.. and have them come over and try it.. they couldn't believe it either when they tasted it! they both instantly asked for the recipe! LOL.. So Sherelle.. I think you broke the "secret code" for the best cream sauce EVER.. the bacon just makes it so good to.. seriously my KIDS LOVED it.. Ben said it was HANDS DOWN the best thing I had ever cooked for dinner.. and It was literally SO easy!  so make sure you try that recipe!!

Well I better get back to "work". Ben and Braden got snowboards for Christmas and they are out today snowboarding.. I am however at home.. getting ready for ourkits to go "live" on our website for tomorrow morning.. and have a HUGE mess of a house to clean (although I just saw that Allie, Preston and Ethan cleaned the entire Living room and sitting room.. INCLUDING vacuuming it! And Ethan already unloaded the dishwasher.. so we are half way there! (what great kids!)

I hope you have a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Best wishes to all of you!

Apron Instructions, sledding and family pictures...

So today we thought it would be fun to go sledding with my brother and his family.. since we have at least 4 or more feet of snow outside (and still counting)... but we only lasted about 5 minutes when we realized the snow was WAY too deep and too powdery, and FREEZING outside!   It was pretty funny when nearly all the kids got stuck in the snow trying to climb their way back up to the top. But they did! and they had alot of fun! We might have to try it again on another day, when the snow has packed a little and the wind isn't blowing so hard.. good times! LOL..

We took family pictures yesterday.... well let me rephrase that..on our way to church at 8:30 am in the morning, I noticed that all of my kids were wearing the sweaters that I had bought them for winter, Ben included. Allie had on a dress that somewhat matched, and so did I, so  I had this great idea that right AFTER church I would have my friend follow us home and take our family pictures outside in our back yard against the pine trees and snow.... but whenever we "plan" pictures, it never works out. SO i didn't tell my kids until on the way home from church.  We live just 2 blocks away, so basically when we got in the car to go home, I said "okay.. here's the deal, we are going home, but when we do, DON'T get out of the car, I am going to run into the house, and get my camera, and Kara is following us home and we are going to head straight to the  back to the backyard and take family pictures. EVERYONE is going to smile, because if YOU DO, I will let you open one of the presents under the tree that is for the entire family. But the means NO crying, no saying "it's freezing outside", I'm cold, the snow if too deep.. etc". I told them, I KNOW it is cold, I know it's freezing and the snow is too deep, so there is no sense in stating the obvious! AND you  all need to continuously smile for 60 seconds while Kara takes pictures,  so that the ONE time I know the Noah (our 3 year old) will be looking at the camera, so would will all of you. So let's do this!"   SO.. we did it!  We actually  had to drive our Excursion to get back to our back yard because the snow was so deep, but the kids were so good! They got out of the car, I put them into their spots, she snapped photos for 60 seconds straight (even when were were talking)  and they were done! LOL.. Now THAT IS MY kinda of taking pictures!! No planning, no big production.. just simple, catch them off guard, bribe your kids.. kinda of thing.. and you get a decent family picture!!.. so THANK YOU KARA for battling the cold.. and taking our pictures.. YOU ROCK!   The funny things is, the last time we took family pictures was 2 years ago, when we were on our way home from church, and had the same idea, and Kara's DAUGHTER was in the car with us and as a last minute thought, I asked her to take some pictures of us in the backyard (she was 10 at the time). Too funny, that's just the way we roll.

So merry Christmas from our family to yours..

oh! and before I go, I had several people ask me how to make the aprons I mentioned on my last entry.. I decided to add them to our Scarlet Lime Newsletter that went out today.. so here they are! Enjoy!
