that's the word I use to describe the fun goodies that came in my box this month from the Scrapbook Bakery! They asked me to be a guest designer for May and I wanted to post the projects I did with their May kit.
They asked me to complete 2 layouts,
a card/tag
and decorate a memo board. I had fun with memo board and turned it into a mini chalkboard.
I taped off a rectangle in the middle of the board and sprayed it with Chalkboard spray. Then painted and decorated the rest of it!
I also finished this week one of my classes that I will be teaching at Express the Moments in June. As I said before I will also be offering a few of those kits on my blog, later in May.
For this particular class we are making an 18 page mini album. The album is called "lessons learned" and for me it's about all the women in my life and the lesson that each individual person has taught me by the way they live and who they are. This just doesn't have to be about women though, it can be about anyone in your life! We use so much fun stuff in this class! Autumn Leaves flourish stamps, Heidi Swapp Chipboard alpha's. Making Memories Raw chipboard shapes/flowers. Scenic Route Stickers, Prima flowers plus other fun stuff like ribbon, tulle, doilies etc. I love to mix different mediums together and this class really reflects that.
Well I will be "out" for most of this week. I haven't really told too many people but I am having surgery this week... My close friends and family know... and am so grateful to have their support! I am having it in Utah, so I will be staying at my mom's house for after week, to be close to the doctor. I can't wait honestly because her house is always so peaceful and full of love. I need some good spiritual nourishment right now and plan on using some of that down time reading my scriptures and some good self help books. I think we all need a little TLC sometimes for ourselves. It will be a good time to think about the next few months and put my priorities back in order! I only say that because to be honest, I think alot of the time, work consumes my life way more than it should. I forget that first and foremost I am a mom and a wife and need to step away from my hobbies/career and just make sure that it's all in sync with each other. Do you ever feel that way?
Anyhow.. I hope you all have a wonderful week! Make sure to check out the kits at Scrapbook Bakery! I know there is only a limited number of May kits, so make sure you get there first!

Your work is so beautiful!!! Might just have to get one of those kits! I pray that your surgery goes well and that you have a speeedy recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

My prayers are with you for a speedy surgical recovery. I think spring/summer itself makes us all take stock & say, let's play with the kids.

Christy! I can't believe I haven't found your blog until NOW. I've admired your work for so long and have been lucky enough to meet you at a CKU function a few years ago and you are sooo beautiful and just so SWEET. You even once send me a whole bunch of Chatterbox goodies b/c my girlfriend and I were doing some scraplift contest...I will definitely be checking in here now! You will be in my thoughts and prayer as you head into surgery. I hope you have a fast recovery and can't wait to "hear" from you when you are better! Take Care.
