oh my heck seriously? has it really been over a week since i posted last? yep.. that is not good.. but I do have a great excuse! last week was crazy busy getting ready for CHA.. and then when I got to CHA.. it was such a whirlwind of craziness! The debut of both my She Art Mixed Media line with Pink Paislee and my Stamp line with Unity was just a dream come true! I have to admit I was soooo nervous.. I actually got sick because I was so nervous. I didn't think I would be, but about a half hour before my demo/debut in the Pink Paislee booth I seriously just wanted to puke.. lol. I started having all these thoughts like.. what if the stores don't like the products? what if they don't get it? what if they just think mixed media is the lamest thing ever?? lol.. and when I get nervous I laugh and I seriously don't think I could stop laughing the first 30 minutes of my demo. But luckily the women and men who were there to watch just right away put me at ease and the line was SO well received.. and I just was so thankful! I was also thankful for good friends who kept my nerves at bay too. always grateful for words of love and encouragement from those you trust and love as well. So it went wonderful!!
Of course I also had the best time hanging out and seeing some of my dearest friends at CHA as well. The Glitz Girls, Margie, Donna Downey, Ali Edwards, Pablo, Tim Holtz, Michelle Hill.. I could go on and on. AND of course loved seeing the Gilded Girls.. Shea and Debbie. Which brings me to my next exciting news!!
about a month ago I was texting with Sheaback and forth and we were talking about how fun it would be to do a mini workshop for valentines.. similar to the one we did for christmas. Except this time.. it would just be the Gilded Girls and me.. we talked and texted and kinda put it in our minds.. but didn't really set anything in stone.. well about a week before CHA.. I called her again and said.. girl let's do this! Their work is SO amazing and they just have such a different look and feel than I do and so a mixture of the two of our art styles would just be so fun! SO I am excited to announce a NEW mini workshop! just in time for Valentines Day.. and it start in like 10 days!! February 13th!
This workshop is a 4 day workshop! And will include 3 projects from the Gilded Girls.. Shea and Debbie.. plus fun tags/card sets AND a valentines project from me too!
If you took the 12 Ornaments workshop.. YOU KNOW how creative these girls are.. and the detail and amazing projects they come up with! here is a peak of two of them!!
I am SUPER excited about this project because it's a jewelry project!! AND its actually something that can be worn all year long! PLUS they will be offering a kit to purchase for the jewelry project (it is not included in the class) exclusive to class members for this.. so watch for that info coming VERY Soon!
Another fun project is this goregous pillow..
Ive seen this baby in person and I was blown away by the cool creative detail! And their final project.. oh my heck.. it just blows me away! I can't wait to make it!! lol
and of course.. the class wouldn't be complete without my little artsy spin on valentines.. So this class is going to be seriously FUN!
It starts February 13th.. and I hope you will join us!
OH!! and I forgot to tell you! as a bonus.. for those of you that sign up before the 13th.. you will also receive free admission into my Color Creative workshop! it's my valentines present to you! if you are already taking the class.. feel free to give it away as a gift to someone you think would enjoy some creative artsy play! So really you are getting two classes in one!! wahoo!

Hi Christy! I am currently reading The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles. The author mentioned that Henry Fonda, even at age 75, still puked before every stage performance; he continues on to differentiate the 'professional', someone who is living their dream/s in spite of the fears, the nervousness, etc., and the 'amateur', one who does not experience these inconveniences but does not get anything done either. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your feelings and experiences here because I find it truly inspirational. And thank you for sharing your gifts and talents and knowledge **in spite of** the hassles of doing so. It is through brave 'professional' people like you, that 'amateurs' like me get to discover our own creative voice.

Barbara Streisand talks about her stage fright to this day. You're in good company and that nervousy thing is what gives you the juice to step up and share what you love. Quiet the inner critic, feel the fear/nervousness and do it anyway. BTW, love the idea of your mini classes...might you have one for some other upcoming holidays like Easter and Memorial Day/4th of July, etc.? For the Valentines one, love what you're planning...next year if you decide to do it again could you do it earlier than 2/13. I'd like to do some of these projects as gifts for peeps that are out of town and while I want to stay open to heart-based work and know it isn't tied to a particular day on a calendar...would just be fun to mark it a bit ahead of time.

Christy, please don't feel guilty, but when you don't blog I worry that you are sick! I'm so glad you were just busy. Busy means healthy. AND, it would take a seriously mentally ill person not to love your new products!

Question - Is this an on-line workshop or a life workshop. If it is a life workshop where is it?
Posted by: karina | February 02, 2012 at 07:53 PM
Is this online or at a place? Are the supplies included or do we get a class supply list we need to gather? I've never taken on of you workshops but do like you artwork. I live in Washington State so am wondering about the particulars. Thanks.
