Who said Scarlet Lime Kits are for layouts only?? Ohhh heck no. There are soo many fun ways to use Christy's kits, that it would be a shame to limit ourselves to layouts and cards only...How about a cute, fun custom bracelet??
I purchased a wooden bracelet about a year ago from a local crafts store and it has been gathering dust ever since...but I think it really was saving itself for this kit. Seriously! It knew before I did, just how cute it was going to be..Now how did I create this bracelet? How about 1 hour of your time, some paints and rub ons and a bit of creative fun!
First I painted the base with some Liquitex Ink in Cadmium Yellow Light Hue (from the Scarlet Lime Store, of course!) and if there is one color of Liquitex Ink that you should buy, it is this! I use it on almost EVERY project I create. I allowed the ink to dry and then added a fun striping around the edge with Liquitex Ink in Iridescent Copper (which is one of the newer colors that Christy has added to the shop). To get a quick bit of texture to the base, I used a piece of netting and some thick acrylic paint to create a mask and get the cool netted texture on the bracelet.
Then it is time to decorate. Grab up those rub-ons people and lets rub, rub away!
I added a fun border with some rub ons. Look how cute it is starting to look already! Then a few more decorative rub ons and some gems...have to have a bit of blinage going on!
The bracelet was looking a little too monochromatic to me, so I wanted to add just a tiny hint of color..and I did this by using my Ranger Adirondack Pen in Lettuce on my...shhhh. fingers!!!
Then I rubbed the transferred ink onto the top of the netting masked paint!
See the nice light addition of green?? Totally brings the bracelet together. And now for the finished project....drum roll.......dtdtdttdtdtdttttdtdtdttdtdttd
Now get ready for the compliments to come POURING IN!
