Today my scrapbooking room is being featured on the Making Memories Blog.. here is a sneak peak, but check out their website for all the details!
Funny note: those shots of my scrapbooking space took me almost 3 weeks to get! If you know me.. I can create a mess pretty fast and it seemed like every time I would get one cleaned up and prepared for pictures... another assignment from Making Memories or Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine would pop up and it would be messy again! Seriously it took me THREE weeks to get a day where I could keep it clean!
in other news.. (parents please don't freak out... :) ).. but I think we are moving! I know.. I know.. do Ben and I ever stay in one place very long? (apparently not) We are a fly by the seat of your pants kinda couple.
Well Ben has been saying how while he LOVES the location of our house and the neighborhood and our kid's friends. and our ward etc... and while we actually really do love our house and the layout of it. The yard is just not big enough for him. He can't store all of his "junk" here and feels like we have no privacy. I had already told him we were NOT moving until the kids were out of the house or they would KILL us (they seriously love it here). So he said.."well, the houses on
Park street (which is adjacent to our street) have hugs lots. Like 1-2 acre lots. So over the next few years, if one of those comes up for sale, we are buying it. I don't care what shape it's in, or if it's small, whatever. We are buying it."
I was like.. okay.. sure.. no problem.. a couple of years..
well two days ago, he was taking Noah for a bike ride in the bike trailer and was driving down Park Street and guess what? There was a house for sale.. not just any house.. but a house sitting on one acre, with a shop, fruit trees, TONS OF lawn, huge mature trees. bushes.. a redwood deck on the back.. you name it.. it has it. The only problem is the house was built in 1910 or something like that so the layout of the house is kinda funky. It's been completely restored, so it's in great shape, and while it has the same square footage as the house we live in now, it only has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths and NO family room. One room has to be my office so that only leaves 3 bedrooms for all 8 of us. (plus the laundry room is in the main floor bathroom-ekk!). But the house is gorgeous, it's a craftsman style house.. which I LOVE and honestly the curb appeal it has.. can't be bought for the price they have it listed.
Anyhow.. we walked through it yesterday and while it's going to be a tight fit, I haven't seen Ben this excited about something in a LONG time. (well okay.. except for last week when he got his 1973 retro boat). But I mean, he can't stop talking about it. Can't stop thinking about it. So he says.. we are moving! He even tried to steal a "sold" sign out of the trunk of our Realtor (who didn't list the house by the way), to put on the for sale sign, so know one else would look at it! (the people were out of town on vacation). I managed to talk him out of it, specially since the people would be home that day and probably be calling their Realtor to find out who bought their home while they were away! LOL..
Our second problem? Our house isn't up for sale and not even CLOSE to being ready to be listed yet. So I guess we are cutting all of our trips short this summer, to get our basement finished, so we can get it up for sale, so we can make an offer on that house, so we can buy it and MOVE! holy cow.. we are crazy. Lots to do too.. we just pulled out every single bush in our front and backyard (it had this gross spidery bush things) so we have landscaping to finish, as well as the basement. We just hope the other house lasts long enough on the market for us to get our ducks in a row..
We are heading over there this morning to talk to them, before we head out of town for Boise today. It's nerve racking.. because it's not like houses in our neighborhood come up for sale very often and CERTAINLY not on that street. Honestly.. this is going to be tight folks.. I guess if it works out though.. it works out!
So everyone pray for Ben's sake and happiness that he gets his house.
have a fabulous weekend!
