So we are back from Utah and we had a great time. I Went to see a doctor about Hormone therapy for a few issues I am having and I AM SO excited to be starting it. Actually started in on Wednesday, had my first injection.. and can already tell a difference! I will post more about it later, because I am still in the early stages of it, but I swear I have found the miracle hormone for all of my problems! LOL.. including my inability to loose weight! I am a little nervous to post about it here.. because I am a little nervous about what everyone will think about it.. but I can't say enough good things about it. I have told just about every person I meet about it and I have so many friends and family that are thinking about doing it too. There are different kinds.. but something to benefit everyone! So I decided after I have been doing it for 2 weeks, I will let you in on what it is.. but today's post is actually about ACTIONS..
Actions in Photoshop, that is..
Maggie Holmes, a dear friend who was a guest artist on the Scarlet Lime a few months back.. is not only a completely talented scrapbooking (she designs and contributes for Creating Keepsakes magazine).. but she is also an amazing photographer. She has such an eye for taking wonderful pictures, but she has also created some awesome formulas for adding finishing touches to your photos, to make them just POP! She turned these formulas into Actions you can install in your Photoshop programs.. and they ROCK!
She sent me two sets of her Actions a couple of weeks ago, and I have had sometime over the last few weeks to play with them. I wanted to show you how amazing they are. If you aren't familiar with Actions, basically what you do with them, is once you purchase them, you simply install them into your Photoshop program. SO simple really, but then when you have a photo you want to fix in a hurry , you simply click the play bottom in your Actions window, and away it goes, making your picture perfect! .
So here is what I did..
the first picture is of one I took of Allie at Easter. I used the lighten and color pop actions on this photo. You can see the before and after. AMAZING.. love how everything just pops..
The second picture (of my dear friend Shelby's baby girl).. I used the extreme color action on .. love how
it makes her face so bright!
So then the next two pictures of using some of her vintage actions, mixed in with her color actions.
The first is using her vintage basic followed by color pop. The second picture, is using her vintage warm action,
then followed by extreme color. So cool all the different combinations you can come up with!
Maggie has them for sale on her blog.. so you have to check them out! Thanks Maggie for letting me play with them!
Speaking of blogs.. I wast just on Making Memories blog the other day and read that they launched a brand new website, so of course I had to go check it out and it is SO cool! So many great ideas now, with actual instructions, shopping, blogging and more.. just thought you might want to know :)..
well that is it for me for tonight. Getting ready for a big stamp/kit sale for Scarlet Lime next week and my SIL, Brooke, is coming over tomorrow to help put together some custom kits for the sale. She is hosting the sale on her etsy site, on the 22nd. Then tomorrow night we are going to a play that my son Parker is in! The Wizard of Oz! He is "woody" the tree and he does a GREAT job! My mom is coming down from Utah to go and so is my dad and step mom.. going to be lots of fun! GO Parker!
Have a wonderful night!
