hello friends! We are back froM CHA.. oh my goodness the awesome things we saw and ordered.. both for the store and the kit club!
I am really excited! It should all be arriving over the next couple of weeks and months to the store..
soo.. be on the watch out! AND be on the watch out for a major sale (next week) for current product in our store.. gotta make room for the new! lol.
We also took some demo classes while we were at CHa, so we could learn how the new products we were purchasing are used! Had SO much fun in all of them, but my favorite class was with the talented Ms Dyan Reaveley with Ranger!
(dont mind my goofy smile on my face... holy cow I think I was star struck! lol)
We made these awesome canvases.. (Ben too!)
Learned a TON of fun new techniques and Can't wait to share them with you over the next few months through tutorials and classes!
I ALSO got to meet another person our family are huge fan of! Do you guy watch survivor? Well if you do, you know who Tie Dyed Rupert is! he has been on the show three times! He was at CHA with Tulip helping demonstrating their tye dyed DIY collection paints.
Of course I had to jump in and paint with him. He and I made 6 pairs of socks for all of our kids! He was so fun!
(um yea I forgot to wear the gloves he gave me.. so my hands were pretty much that color for a few days.. they still are lol)
Sooooo..
TWO big things are happening this week.
One My Workshop with Jeanne Oliver and 8 other FABULOUS artist.. has begun! Started yesterday!
Studying Under the Masters (becoming an apprentice)
This class is VERY close to my heart because I think so many of us struggle with the entire thing the class is based around. We are all inspired by things we see around us, other artists, fashion, scenery, pictures, you name it! And through this comes much of the inspiration we create in our work! So how do we one.. take the inspiration we see and learn from it.. create from it.. BUT TWO.. and the most important part.. how do we make it our own? How do we go on to create what we are inspired to.. without it looking JUST like the subject or item we were inspired by? Specially when it's inspired by another artist?
this workshop is hands down going to help you get through that process! There is so much more to the workshop too.. and if you would like to know more about it.. please check out the link HERE!
For those of you already signed up.. you should have received your instructions on how to access the class yesterday, from Jeanne Oliver. Make sure to check spam. She teaches this class on her ning site, which requires you to register on her ning site as well. Then once registered you will be able to access the class. Just follow the instruction in your welcome email! if you didn't get it.. you can contact jeanne at [email protected]
another HUGE thing that is going on this week!
the debut of my FIRST Art Society Project!
TOday is the LAST day to sign-up for January's subscription.. and get the free gift that comes with the initial 6 month subscription! This gift is ONLY available to those who sign up THIS month.. and today is the last day! So make sure to check it out if you haven't already!
HERE is more info on that as well.

Christy! I'm dying to know this, because I use the Dylusions inks from time to time in mixed media canvases, and have a love/hate relationship with how they re-activate. What did you use to "finish" the canvas so the ink stays put? Spray varnish?
