So I've decided to start a new tradition on mondays.. maybe not every monday.. but MOST mondays.. and here it is: You all know how I love styleboards as I talked about them in this post here. Well I also love moodboards, which yes.. are different than a styleboard. A moodboard is what ever you happen to be in the "mood" for that particular day, or week, or month. How is that different from a style board? Well for instance.. a style board represents ME as a person, what you would see in my everyday life, my art, my house, what I wear. A moodboard is simply something I might have a fling for.. at that particular moment.. but you don't see represented in my everyday style consistently. It can be textures, colors, sights, sounds, tastes, smells, designs, patterns, styles.. it can be anything really. Whatever I am drawn to that particular week. What I am in the "mood" for :).
This first week has a lot to do with the time of year it is and the freezing cold weather we are having. We were lucky enough to spend the week at a cabin in Driggs, Idaho last week; snowboarding, relaxing with friends, doing art, watching movies.. just spending time with family and friends. I use the word cabin loosely because really it was just a condo not a cabin, but it WAS in the mountains.. so I full expected it to be decked out in "cabin" themed decor and bedding. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't.. but it did have a very manly, rugged feel to it. The bedding, furniture, artwork, etc.. throughout the home reminded me a lot of menswear. It was a mix of dark leathers, gorgeous woods, birch tree candles, tweed comforters, cashmere knitted throws, houndstooth towels.. you get the picture. I was in LOVE. I normally wouldn't decorate my house this way.. it did have a bit of a "mountain" feel to it, but it wasn't overdone. I actually took some pictures and scanned in some of the textures from around the house for an art project I am working on for thursday.. more on that later.
So without further ado... presenting.. my first Monday Moodboard:
These are just a few of the fun images and products I found on the internet.. I will always try and credit where I got the images from, if I know... in-case you just have to have them :).
