So last year, I had the privilege of attending Spark the Event, in Utah. One of my best friends in the whole world, Margie Romney-Aslett, was one of the creators of the event and I wanted to go and help and be apart of it in anyway I could. It was her birthday, so I also wanted to make sure I was there on her birthday! Aimed with birthday cake an all!
I remember driving up to the event, In a small town in Utah.. and seeing this simple yet gorgeous building (called Noah's), all decked out with colorful banners and art and lights and yummy artsy goodness and I KNEW I was going to love it!
The minute I stepped inside the transformed building, I knew I was in heaven! I saw old fashioned decorated bicycles hanging from the cieling in this massive room with wood rafters! There were old jars filled with antique pool balls, and handmade banners made out of old playing cards decorated with glimmer and paint. There were old colorful typewriters, set out on hall tables, along side glass jars filled with old school candy and paper flowers made from old fashioned vintage papers hanging in every doorway and christmas lights.. EVERYWHERE.. it was like artsy heaven!
I had this huge moment of pride for my dear friend.. I knew her and her partners.. Liz and Rhonna.. had worked so hard to make this event a magical place for everyone and the work had paid OFF! It was amazing! I have honestly never seen anything like it ever before!
So then I began to peak in on the classes being taught.. trying to find margie (i came mid day on saturday and it had already begun). and of course.. my awe continued! .. Emily Falconbridge had women sitting all over the floor, making beautiful scarves and necklaces out of wool felting!
Margie was making a mobile out of a hanger and papercrafting supplies.. oh my heck cute! A bird canvas was being taught in another class.. a photography class.. a digital class.. seriously I WAS IN LOVE. It was one of THEmost creative, inspiring, well planned, beautiful thoughtful events I had been to! Amazing food, two full days of awesome artsy classes, a beautiful artisan store, a night of beautiful music sitting on blankets with friends.. (that was my favorite parts) and a night on the "roof top" with hanging lights were a "mini" bar of creative make and takes were being taught from a vintage necklace, to a adorable handmade headbands, papercrafting and more! It seriously is hands down the best event I have ever attended.
Flash forward a few months ago, I got a call from my friend, Margie.. and we started to talk about Spark. She asked me if I would ever consider being a part of Spark and I was like UM, HECK YES! She asked me to come teach one of their main core classes, a mixed media canvas class.. and I was STOKED! Dream come true! Then she told me how her two creative partners, Rhonna and Liz.. were both going in new wonderful directions with their lives.. but it meant not having all the time they needed for Spark.. so she was looking for a couple of new creative partners for Spark No. 3 AND.... would I like to come on this year as a Creative Partner as well!
I was like.. "what did you just say"? am I dreaming right now? I think I am dreaming! can you repeat that?" lol. So she did. I was es-tactic!!! I know each year.. she may bring on different people to help with the creative process.. but this year I get to be apart of SPARK!! Wahoo!!
seriously.. I am on an all time high! So excited! We've already gotten started.. late night meetings via skype, planning teachers, mini workshops, where the venue will be.. themes.. seriously so excited I can't wait!

I truly believe we are all creative people.. and this will be an event that will SPARK that creative fire.. and help you find what you just love to do. I promise.. it's going to be so fun!
