okay friends.. this is SOO out of my comfort zone here.. but so many of you have asked me on instagram/facebook if my hair is naturally curly.. or how I get such thick wavy curls?
(here is picture of it with a little bit looser curl and shorter)..
(and here it is recently a little longer and a little tighter curl AND thinking im oh so sexy and daring wearing red lipstick hahaha.. WHAT a dork!)
BUt the answer is ALWAYS the same.. HECK NO my hair is not naturally curly and it is THIN as thin can be! lol.. and very dry. I wish I was born with naturally wavy hair and thick soft locks.. but alas.. I was born with straight, thin and very fragile hair. Not so fun huh?
So you all begged for a tutorial on how I get my thin hair to look so full and get that wavy curl... so here it is!
First off.. I apologize for the dorky video. Seriously Dorky. And no one should ever start out a video with wet hair lol. NOT a good look :). Oh well.. it's just you guys right? lol. No judging here :)
(Here is a longer version of my hair with a more loose wavy curl and in the video I show you how to get both the defined curl and the more tousled wavy curl.. again.. why I am doing fish lips I have no idea.. just worked out that way. dorkmister)
I explain it all in the video the products I use and I will also list below the products I use, so you don't have to try and right them down (I also listed under the video info on youtube.. if you go directly to youtube to watch it.
So here we go! Enjoy!
xoxo
***JUST so you know.. I forgot to mention it in this video.. but you can use this method ON ANY length of hair. I used it when I had long hair. So this works great on all hair types! Just remember if your hair is LONGER, you will need to use the smaller barrel curling iron and or a really hot curling iron, AND take smaller sections. Obviously when you put more hair on the barrel it will require more time to curl it.
The products I used are also listed below.
Hair Products:
Wet Hair Products
(products I use before I blow dry my hair)
Guts by Redkin
It's a 10- Blow out Volumnizer
Moroccan Oil
After Blow drying:
Right after I get done blow drying my hair I use Bead Head TIGI After Party for added shine.
Next I spray Redkin's Thermal Heat Spray all over my hair and brush through.. to hold my curls and protect my hair from the curling iron heat. (you can also use it before your blow dry your hair, but the main reason I use it is to hold my curl).
I use a 1" and 3/4" curling iron barrel from Connair (only because my hair is so short in the back).
To hold my curls- I use Short Sexy Hair: Play Dirty wax Spray.
then just use a big brush to brush my curls out.
Hope this helps!
